Risa Vetri Ferman

Risa Vetri Ferman is the elected District Attorney of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. She began her term in January 2008 after serving fifteen years as an Assistant District Attorney in the county. Prior to her election District Attorney Ferman served for six years as First Assistant District Attorney, overseeing all operations of the District Attorney’s Office and County Detective Bureau; she served for four years as a Deputy District Attorney supervising both the Trials and Pre-trials Divisions; she served as the Captain of the Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit and a Trials Assistant District Attorney specializing in sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse. District Attorney Ferman serves on the Executive Committee (as Past President) of Mission Kids and as a Board member for the Montgomery Child Advocacy Project MCAP. District Attorney Ferman also currently serves as Chair on the Criminal Procedural Rules Committee of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the Executive Board of the Pennsylvania District Attorney’s Association and is a member of the Pennsylvania District Attorney’s Institute.

Glenn Ivey

Mr. Ivey is the former State’s Attorney for Prince George’s County, Maryland. He served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Association of Prosecuting Attorneys from 2009 – 2011. Mr. Ivey’s mission is to make communities safer, which is why, as State’s Attorney, he implemented proactive crime prevention programs designed to benefit and protect all county residents. From 1990 until 1994, former State’s Attorney Ivey served as a federal prosecutor under then United States Attorney for the District of Columbia and current United States Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. As an Assistant United States Attorney, Mr. Ivey handled grand jury investigations, criminal jury trials and appeals within the District of Columbia. Prior to his work as a federal prosecutor, he was a partner at the Washington, DC law firm of Preston, Gates, Ellis (now K&L Gates) where he handled legislative, regulatory and criminal matters. Mr. Ivey graduated with honors from Princeton University in 1983 and graduated from Harvard Law School in 1986.

Roy Hubert

Roy Hubert retired from the California District Attorneys Association as its Special Projects Director and as an Environmental Circuit Prosecutor. As Special Projects Director, he was a proven grant writer and had a primary role in obtaining a $3.6 million traffic safety resource prosecutors grant. The previous focus of his law practice was on environmental, worker safety and health matters. An active member of the California State Bar for 33 years, he has worked in the field of safety and health, in one role or another, since 1964. Mr. Hubert was instrumental in the formation of a Master of Laws in Prosecutorial Science Program at Chapman University. He has been the safety manager for a Fortune 100 company, a member of the occupational safety and health practice group with the national law firm of Littler-Mendelson, a prosecutor in several California counties and International Union Representative for the American Federation of Sate, County & Municipal employees. Mr. Hubert served as the Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Association of Prosecuting Attorneys from 2009 – 2010.

Michael D. Schrunk

District Attorney

Michael D. Schrunk has been the elected District Attorney in Multnomah County, Oregon, since 1981. Multnomah County encompasses the largest metropolitan area in the State of Oregon and has a population of 672,161. The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office has over 200 staff members, including 90 attorneys. In 2005 the office reviewed 31,752 criminal cases. It issued 6,906 felony cases and 15,724 misdemeanor cases.Mr. Schrunk has been a leader in several innovative justice initiatives: the Neighborhood District Attorney Program in 1990; the Drug Court in 1991; and Portland’s Community Court Project in 1998.

Carmen A. Trutanich

City Attorney

Carmen A. Trutanich was elected City Attorney for the City of Los Angeles on May 19, 2009. With more than 500 lawyers and 1,000 employees overall, the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office is among the largest government legal offices in the country. It is the third-largest government law office in California, following the Attorney General’s Office and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. The City Attorney is the chief prosecutor for the City of Los Angeles with jurisdiction to prosecute all misdemeanor criminal offenses and infractions. He is also the chief legal advisor and general counsel to the Mayor and the City Council, as well as all boards, departments, and officers in the City of Los Angeles.
